Simple Creatures have just unveiled a brand new track - the first not on their debut EP 'Strange Love'.
Mark Hoppus and Alex Gaskarth shared exclusively with Rock Sound earlier this year that their follow-up EP 'Everything Opposite' will be dropping this summer, and 'Special' is the first taste of it.
And if 'Special' is anything to go by, you can jot us down as excited for the rest of 'Everything Opposite'.

But what about Simple Creatures' debut album? When asked about releasing an album, Mark said "Album, yes. When we first set out, we had enough music to put out a record but I don't think we wanted to inundate people with that much music right off the bat. We wanted to put out some music (then) put out some more music later. Especially the way that modern music is consumed and released...that's something that's really exciting for me as a musician, is to have that agility to put out whatever you want."
Furthermore, the band also confirmed that they plan on returning to the Simple Creatures project in years to come, with future albums in the pipeline too.
As Alex says, "When we talked about doing this, one of the main things we discussed was we don't just want this to be a passion project that we fire up for a week and then it's done. We said if this is gonna be worthwhile and we're gonna do this then this should be our creative outlet going forward for things that are different and things we can do outside of our existing projects. I think, yeah, down the line it's gonna be a really nice thing to have to just do things a different way."
