This is 'Shadowboxer'.

Ahead of the release of their upcoming album 'Generation Rx', Good Charlotte have released a brand new single 'Shadowboxer'.

The track serves an important message about internalised self-hatred.  Check out the lyrics of the chorus:

All this hate will burn your life down,
All the pain you cause your own suffering,
Tell me when you look in the mirror and talk to yourself,
Do you even see at all?
All this hate you chose to throw your life away,
Do you even see at all?

'Shadowboxer' is only the second track we've heard from the upcoming album, with the first being 'Actual Pain' released in May.

The video for 'Shadowboxer' sees the return of the skulls we've become familiar with over the past couple of months- with the first appearance in the band's instagram teasers, album artwork and masks handed out at Slam Dunk Festival in June. Long may the skull aesthetic last- it's lit.

Taking to twitter, Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden tweeted in reference to the new song and video:

'Generation Rx' is set for release September 14 through BMG and MDDN. Get all the info on that here.
