"You don’t really think of these huge A-listers being metalheads, but everyone has their own taste in music..."
Last week, Bullet For My Valentine surprised Margot Robbie (I, Tonya, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Suicide Squad) with an onstage shout-out from their US tour - and BBC Radio 1 captured her reaction.
Margot had revealed that she's a huge fan of Bullet and Slipknot, so both they and Corey Taylor recorded special appearances.
It was properly heartwarming, and you can watch here (from around the 5:55 mark).
We spoke to Bullet frontman Matt Tuck about how it all panned out.
"We had a call from Radio 1, from Nick Grimshaw’s producer, saying that they were going to film a Heart Rate Monitor episode with Margot Robbie," he recalled.
"They’d done a bit of research and found out we were one of her favourite bands, so asked if we wanted to get involved, maybe do an acoustic serenade or something. We were on tour and couldn’t get to a studio, so we thought going up there and dedicating a song would be the best thing – and that’s what we did!"
"You don’t really think of these huge A-listers being metalheads, but everyone has their own taste in music and just because people don’t wear it on their sleeves doesn’t mean it’s not there. We know we’ve got a couple of celebrity fans, obviously Margot is one, so it was amazing – such good vibes. Her reaction was incredible, it put a little twinkle in our eyes. It was brilliant."
The band recently finished a US tour alongside Avenged Sevenfold, and are expected to return with a new record soon.
