Biffy Clyro On Their Brand New Record: “We Finished It Literally Last Week”

New Biff is just round the corner.

So you know a few weeks ago when Biffy Clyro said that they were working on a "sister" record to last year's 'A Celebration Of Endings'?

It looks like it may be done, and has had a little shift of focus.

In an interview with NME on the red carpet at the BRIT Awards, vocalist Simon Neil had this to say:

"The title has changed, we've got to keep it top secret. We finished it literally last week. We weren't intending on doing it. We were hoping that things would maybe be a bit further on, but we’ve ended up making an amazing record.

"Originally it was going to be completely hand in hand. They do relate. But because we didn’t tour I ended up writing seven or eight new songs for the album. Originally it was intended to be a few off cuts from ‘A Celebration…’ but now it’s brand new music. It’s kind of its own beast, but lyrics correspond at certain points. There are lots of easter eggs for fans in there, but it’s a proper record.”

And when will we hear it?

"Hopefully October"

Lovely, lovely, lovely!

'A Celebration Of Endings' was released last August.

We chatted to Simon all about it via Video Call, which you can check out right here:

And as an extra treat here's 'Cop Syrup', because fuck everybody, woo!
