The band were trending on social media after being mentioned in the most unlikely place...

Biffy Clyro were the unsuspecting victims of a hilarious Wikipedia hack last night after they were mentioned during the UK's biggest TV show.

For readers based outside of Britain, 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here' is an annual reality show where a bunch of celebrities are sent into the jungle to complete various challenges. One of this year's contestants is Nick Knowles who is best known for hosting family-based quizzes and home makeover shows.

However, the 56 year old presenter also unexpectedly released an album of covers last year and, in last night's episode, he told the story of how he got his record deal after jamming with the Scottish trio on a roof:

Said Nick, "I’ve always played. My brother’s a really good musician and I’ve always played along with him and a couple of years ago somebody heard me, I was playing on a rooftop bar in Soho with some other bands…Somebody from a record company saw me doing it and I got a phone call saying, ‘I’m from Universal, want to do an album?'...It’s probably best not to say who they are because it would be embarrassing for them more than anything else…Actually, they won’t mind, they’re nice lads, it was Biffy Clyro."

Straight away, Biffy began trending on Twitter as bemused fans reacted to the news that they once played on a roof with the presenter of 'DIY SOS':

In fact, some cheeky fan even changed their Wikipedia page, with hilarious results:

Luckily, the guys appear to have a sense of humour about the whole thing, even fitting their very own Biffy counter into the footage:

Collab in the future?
