We talked to our current cover star about the future of the band on this week's Rock Sound Podcast.

Waterparks' frontman Awsten Knight has given us our first hints about what to expect from the next era of the band.

We chatted to Awsten on this week's episode of the Rock Sound Podcast where he revealed that he is constantly hard at work developing new music and ideas:

"Every time a new release comes out, or new music is being made for one, so many new and experimental things are being worked on or tried. But still applied to a pop formula because pop is my number one, that's my favourite. There's so many new, unique things that by the time a new release comes out and everybody hears it, I'm just, like, really past it (laughs). I wanted 'Entertainment' to come out in November. It was recorded in the summer which means it was written starting in November/December the year before when 'Double Dare' was about to come out. Everything is, like, backed up. Nobody even knew we were signed and 'Royal' and 'Gloom Boys' and 'Plum Island' and all that stuff, that was already written. That was before 'Cluster' was even out and those were already written...That's why, if it was up to me I'd have, like, three albums out a year (laughs)."

No word yet on when Waterparks' third album may arrive but it's pretty cool to know those creative juices are still flowing.

Check out our full interview with Awsten, and hear him to put together his own Mini Mixtape, on this week's Rock Sound Podcast, available on iTunes, Soundcloud, or wherever you get your podcasts:
