An incredible achievement for a truly special band.

Architects have achieved their highest ever chart placing in the UK with their brand new album 'For Those That Wish To Exist'.

And that chart placing is NUMBER ONE. Oh yes.

The album was at No.03 in the midweek update, with only 2500 record separating the top five, but also turned out to be the most downloaded album of the week.

It is higher than any of the band's previous efforts, with '16's 'All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us' peaking at No.15. '18's 'Holy Hell' peaking at No.18 and '14's 'Lost Forever // Lost Together' peaking at No.16.

The band are actually on all of these charts:

The Official Album Chart
The Official Record Store Chart
The Official Download Albums Chart
The Official Vinyl Albums Chart
AND the Official Rock And Metal Albums Chart (their fifth number 1 on this chart)

An incredible achievement for the band and all involved in bringing this bold and brash creation to life. Well done lads!

The band had this to say in a tweet:

"We are blown away. Never in our wildest dreams did we aspire to this. Even 1 week ago, when we released this record, there was no discussion between us of having a Number 1 record.

We’ve been around for 16 years and this is our 9th (ninth) record. - bands just hit new peaks on their ninth record, but here we are. Four years ago we lost Tom and our worlds were turned upside down. The fact that we can stand here today with a No.1 record in the UK, having lost our songwriter, having created a record that took so many risks, should be impossible, but here we are.

We owe a debt of gratitude to our fans. You rallied together and made this possible - we only just got over the line and every single one of you played your part. -thank you for making this a reality, we are endlessly grateful.

Thank you to everyone involved with this record, there are too many to name but you know who you are, We love you all."

The band were recently on the cover of Rock Sound, which you can still pick up from SHOP.ROCKSOUND.TV
