A Day To Remember Cut Short First Gig Of UK Tour As Audience Member Falls From Balcony

UPDATE 1005: A local news report has confirmed that a man - believed to be in his late teens - suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The band pulled the show after 30 minutes at Portsmouth Guildhall last night.



A Day To Remember kicked off their All Signs Point To Britain tour in Portsmouth last night, but had to pull the show mid-set after an audience member plunged from the first tier balcony. According to sources on Twitter, the band made it through about 30 minutes of their set before the incident happened, then announced the remainder of the show would be cancelled.

 

 

 

 

 

 Eyewitness accounts conflict as to whether the injured audience member fell accidentally or intentionally jumped from the balcony.

 

 

 

A spokeswoman for Hampshire police said that the man had been taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious head injuries. She said that at 11.30pm police were still in the Guildhall.
