The most surprising news of the day to be honest.
In a sentence we never thought we'd have to write- consistent good-guys The Maine are today shrouded in scandal as their twitter account has been handed a lifetime ban from the platform.
That's right- The Maine are no longer on twitter. The heavy handed judgement from twitter has come about as a result of the band inputting their birthday as the date the band formed- which makes them 11 years old.
In the twitter terms of service, you have to be at least 13 years old in order to have an account on the platform. So when The Maine put in the date of their formation as their birthday, twitter immediately closed their account and issued the lifetime ban.
So essentially, The Maine have been handed a lifetime ban from twitter for being too honest.
Yo @twitter you asked for a birthdate for our bands twitter account (@themaine) and now we’re banned for life? Can we not do that please? Also why do you need that info? Y’all bein sneaky over there can I get a human adult on the line— Jared Monaco (@jaredmaine) May 29, 2018
Fortunately Dashboard Confessional are on hand to help the guys get their account reactivated, tweeting in support:
Yo! Just sent @timkirchmgmt a text with a contact who should be able to help! <3— Dashboard Confessional (@dashboardmusic) May 29, 2018
Here's hoping that the guys get their account reactivated soon, because we already miss their overwhelming positivity.
