Warped Tour 2011: A Retrospective

The year that heavy took over. The year that we moshed till we couldn't mosh anymore. The year that breakdown legends were born. It's Warped 2011.

We've already taken a look at a few classic Warped Tour line-ups, but 2011 was another year where everything changed. Future favourites were found and blink-and-miss-it icons were everywhere that you looked.

At the peak of their pagentry, Black Veil Brides joined the Warped Tour for a total of 40 days.

Hot off the back of releasing their second album 'Set The World On Fire', the band were guitar soloing their way across the country and proving the doubters wrong at every opportunity.

We can't help but think that it must have been absolutely boiling with that much make-up and hair spray weighing you down. Modern day heroes.

Our favourite British brutalists spent the whole summer bang in the middle of Warped Tour convoy and had a lovely time doing so.

The band had just dropped their second album 'Reckless And Relentless' in April and were riding high on the wave of riffs.

This was the summer that saw them go from English Kids In America to a genuine sensation stateside. The rest, as they say, is history.

ADTR have always gone from strength to strength when it comes to Warped Tour.

Already one of the most exciting bands that the scene had to offer, 2011 saw the band promoting the severely underrated 'What Seperates Me From You' to some bloody massive crowds.

Nice planet, we'll take eh lads?

It makes us Brits fill up with pride when we see our bands smashing it on the other side of the world.

It made us especially well up watching our Enter Shikari lads give it the big one so far away from home.

The boys spent the whole summer dealing their sporadic synth punk out on the Advent stage. We felt like proud parents.

Oh how we miss D.R.U.G.S.

Warped 2011 saw the post-hardcore supergroup play 4 special dates of the tour on the Nintendo 3DS Stage and caused an absolute riot in the process.

The band broke up just 7 months later, so if you were lucky enough to catch them at your chosen date you are part of history now. Be proud. Be that on your CV.

Kings of Warped Tour, 3OH!3 brought the party for two stints on the Main Stage this summer.

The band were at the height of their hype this summer and ran with it, dealing out the hits thick and fast.

Things may have died down, and got a bit weird, since, but we will always remember 2011 as the summer where Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte had us in the palm of their hands.

10 days of Warped were blessed with the presence of Motionless In White on the Ernie Ball Stage and were all the better for it.

Smack bang inbetween promoting their metalcore classic 'Creatures' and gothcore classic 'Infamous', the band were on an absolute roll.

How we wish we were in the pit for this one.

So there you have it. Everything you need to remember fondly or begrudge not going to Warped 2011. You are so welcome.
