Blink-182's Travis Barker looks back at the year his band was reborn.
"When you’ve put 100 per cent of yourself into something and believe it’s the greatest work you’ve done in years, there’s no need to feel nervous.
"That’s where I was at when we released ‘California’. I kept thinking, ‘I can’t just talk about this record any more, I need people to hear it!’
"From the day Matt joined the band, it felt totally right. I believe that some things are meant to be, and that was one of them.
"His other band Alkaline Trio had toured with Blink a bunch in the past, plus Mark [Hoppus, vocals / bass] and I hung out with him a lot – even before we realised we needed to replace Tom. The transition was easy and natural."
