This Isn’t What You’d Expect From A Being As An Ocean Side-Project

...but it's still pretty great.

Being As An Ocean do emotive, punishing hardcore up there with the best of them, meaning guitarist / vocalist Michael McGough's solo project Heart Of Gold is even more of a curveball.

The Manchester man has signed to Equal Vision Records to release his debut EP, and today we're premiering the first single taken from it, 'Adore You'.

Watch the video below.

"To say someone has a "heart of gold" was to basically say 'I know that no matter what, they still meant well' or 'they still have a heart of gold'," says Michael.

"It was something I was told and taught at a very young age. It changed my outlook and taught me how to see that people will do things very differently to each other in life, so not to be so quick to judge as I am sure that they mean well."

"Having worked with some incredible pop artists before, and [producer Lloyd Preece and I] both having a love for the late 80s / early 90s pop era, we tried to capture that unique sound as closely as possible when writing and recording these tracks," he adds.

'Adore You' is taken from Heart Of Gold's debut EP 'Blame', which is out on June 03 via Equal Vision Records.

Check out the EP's tracklisting and artwork below.
