Paying homage to a city you love is easiest through the art of song. To celebrate such a brilliant art form let's countdown the 15 best ones together.

15. LESS THAN JAKE - 'GAINSVILLE ROCK CITY'
There are two things that Florida is famous for; crocodiles and Less Than Jake. Though we've never seen a crocodile pay homage to their hometown in such a iconic manner. Too busy being absolutely terrifying.

14. DEAF HAVANA - 'SEATTLE'
Life on the road is tough, especially when you're missing home. Rather than wallowing the free thinkers of the world put their emotions into song, just like Havana did on this brilliantly breezy number.

13. THURSDAY - 'PARIS IN FLAMES'
A little leftfield but still an absolute classic. Geoff Rickly and Co really captured the atmosphere of a city burning to a crisp with emotional vigour. This has reminded us that we haven't listened to 'Full Collapse' in ages. You should too.

12. ENTER SHIKARI - 'ANTWERPEN'
For such a beautifully historic city, Antwerp sounds like an absolute riot in this energetic number from those Shikari boys. If you ever find yourself at the bottom of the river, keep an eye out for Rou Reynolds' hand.

11. MOTIONLESS IS WHITE - 'LONDON IN TERROR'
Did you know that our office is situated in Whitechapel in the east end of London? And did you also know that was where Jack The Ripper did most of his murdering? Well now you do. This song is all about that.

10. NORMA JEAN - 'MEMPHIS WILL BE LAID TO WASTE'
When Armageddon comes, this is the song that everybody in Memphis is contracted by law to listen to. True story. Don't actually ask anyone about it, but it's true.

09. TAKING BACK SUNDAY - 'TIMBERWOLVES AT NEW JERSEY'
We aren't sure why there are timberwolves at New Jersey but we think the answer might be a messy one. Unless there are actually loads of trees that need turning into woodchip, then we are mistaken.

08. A DAY TO REMEMBER - 'ALL SIGNS POINT TO LAUDERDALE'
You may hate this town because it's washed up Jeremy, but that doesn't stop you having a little sing about it. You must love it a little bit. Lauderdale looks absolutely lovely. Look at that cracking pier!

07. BLINK-182 - 'SAN DIEGO'
Taken from an album with three songs named after cities, this was the one that found Blink at their absolute best. Matt Skiba's romantic croon about going to see The Cure is ready made to be screamed out the window of your car.

06. DON BROCO - 'COME OUT TO LA'
The city of angels. The place where dreams are made and and then eventually crushed. The perfect place to inspire Broco to deliver one of their sassiest performances ever.

05. MAYDAY PARADE - 'JERSEY'
Anyone else think of Pauly D shouting "CABS ARE HERE BRO" whenever anyone says Jersey? No? Just us? Coolcoolcool. Anyway, Mayday are at their heart-tugging best whenever anyone says Jersey.

04. HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS - 'OHIO IS FOR LOVERS'
Ok, don't shout at us. We know that Ohio is a state. BUT if we're making a list of songs about places then we can't not include the emo national anthem. Them's the rules sucka.

03. SEAWAY - 'LONDON'
When the person you love is halfway across the world, it's got to be hard. Even harder when you know that they are watching the bloke who limbos like there is no tomorrow outside of Camden Town tube station without you. Seriously, he needs to be seen to be believed.

02. ALL TIME LOW - 'FOR BALTIMORE'
All Time Low bloody love their hometown. Which is why this song is never not the cutest thing in the world. It makes us scrunch our cheeks up and go "awwww" every single time.

01. FALL OUT BOY - 'CHICAGO IS SO TWO YEARS AGO'
If we're being picky, Chicago is now so 15 years ago. If we're not being picky, this still stands up as one of FOB's clear career highlights and is easily one of the best songs ever written about a city. And that is that.
