7 Things You Need To Know About All Time Low’s ‘So Wrong, It’s Right’ Set

The band are taking the album on the road, so here's everything you need to know...

Following their incredible three-night stint in New Jersey at the end of last year, All Time Low have revealed that they will be playing 'So Wrong, It's Right' in full at their upcoming UK arena shows too.

Er, YES.

So we spoke to Alex Gaskarth to find out absolutely everything...

01. THE SHOWS IN JERSEY WERE SO AMAZING, THEY HAD TO PLAY THE ALBUM IN FULL AGAIN
"Obviously it wasn’t really our focus at first, we were thinking about the new music and figuring out the new record ['Last Young Renegade'], but then we just figured out something that worked to do something special for it.

"And once we actually got there and did those shows and realised how insane the reaction was, it was so genuinely cool. Seeing the energy in the room every night was amazing and it was like, ‘This would be kinda cool to do again’.

"And then with Pierce The Veil exiting the UK tour, it felt like the right audible to call and to shake things up to keep people excited about the arena tour. Obviously losing a support band is never the easiest thing to bounce back from so we’re like, ‘Well look, we know this is going to over really well, we know we didn’t get to bring this overseas yet, so let’s do it’.”

PEOPLE HAVE MADE A U-TURN ON 'HOLLY (WOULD YOU TURN ME ON?)'...
"Throughout all three of the shows... I thought it was interesting that ‘Holly (Would You Turn Me On?)’ got the reaction it did.

"I had to kinda laugh at that one, because when we put the record out that was the song that got a lot of hate on the punk websites saying, ‘This is just a straight-up pop song, this band sold out!"

...AND NOW IT'S A BONA FIDE MOSH SONG
"At these shows, we had a bit of an older crowd, people that grew up on this record and things like that. So I was finding it really entertaining that we had these 20 to 30 year old pop-punk bros going nuts in the pit to a song like that! I’ve never thought of that song as, like, a mosh song!

"Fast-forward 10 years [since it came out] and that’s the one that’s like, ‘Okay, a circle pit just opened up!’ - I love it. It’s funny how things change over the years."

THIS COULD BE THE LAST TIME WE SEE THEM PLAY A LOT OF THESE SONGS...
"Outside of these sets, which are a special callback to the album, we want to keep growing and keep writing new music.

"We’ll always try to keep it a diverse set with something from every record, but the focus is definitely always about moving forward for us.”

...BUT IT MIGHT ENCOURAGE A RETURN OF OTHERS
"I think we got very comfortable just putting in ‘Dear Maria’ or ‘Let It Roll’, but what it’s reminded us is that it’s a deeper record and there’s a lot of other songs that people appreciate.

"So I think even if we’re not playing a tonne of songs off that record going forward, it’ll definitely encourage us to rotate them a little more, try to throw in a ‘The Beach’ or a ‘Stay Awake’ or something like that, just knowing that the appreciation for those songs is still there."

THE 'SO WRONG, IT'S RIGHT' POP-UP SHOPS FROM NEW JERSEY COULD MAKE ANOTHER APPEARANCE
“It could happen! We haven’t figured that out quite yet. I think we’ll definitely do some nostalgic, throwback merch and stuff like that; we’ve got to give what the people want.

"But I don’t know, that was really a matter of we were posted up there for a few days, so that stuff becomes easier when you’re hanging out in one space and you don’t have to set up a store every single day. But I think it could definitely happen."

THIS ALBUM IS STANDING THE TEST OF TIME
"I asked each night how many people were listening to the album when it came out and how many people found out about us later and it was a pretty cool mix, I’d say about half and half each night.

"There were still new fans coming out and that was fascinating too, because we had these people at the front who were really passionate about that record and you could tell that was the crowd that probably bought it 10 years ago when it came out and that was the record that they fell in love with for All Time Low.

"But then you had these other kids at the show who probably came in on a different record, a later record, going back and exploring the back catalogue and felt a connection to it in that way."
