We're excited to be hosting the world premiere for the first single off Lizzy Farrall's just-announced debut album 'Bruise'!
'Bruise' is set for release March 27 through Pure Noise Records, and speaking of her upcoming debut album Lizzy has shared, "I am excited, and a little nervous, to release my debut album. Its themes are something that have been in my head since I first started writing music, and it’s been quite an emotional experience seeing these ideas and images finally come to life."
But to the lead single - 'Addict'. The video is frankly dark - and features a properly obsessed Lizzy kidnapping someone at gunpoint. We've all been there, right?
"The main theme of the video is of extreme obsession with someone, going so far as to kidnap them at gunpoint out of a desire to control and posses them," Lizzy has shared. "The white rabbit mask, a recurring theme in my visuals, is a more ambiguous symbol, evoking the idea of an other-worldly guiding figure - like the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland or Frank from Donnie Darko - while also being a more personal metaphor for a journey of rebirth."
She wrapped up, "The ending of the video reflects how self-destructive and damaging these obsessions can be".
Dark. But somehow relatable.
