Panic! At The Disco’s 10 Best Covers Ever

We love the originals, but there’s something special about Brendon Urie putting his own spin on someone else’s song.

10. ‘IDGAF’ – ORIGINALLY BY DUA LIPA
The fact that we’ve boldly started this list with a cover this strong should tell you everything you need to know about what you have coming with this list. Strap in.

09. ‘CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON’ – ORIGINALLY BY KANSAS
The best part about this is that they added it to their setlist for the parents. Also, cop those harmonies!

08. ‘STARBOY’ – ORIGINALLY BY THE WEEKND & DAFT PUNK
There’s something so so good about hearing Brendon sing “I’m a, I’m a, I’m a starboy”. Because he is a star, boy.

07. ‘TONIGHT, TONIGHT’ – ORIGINALLY BY SMASHING PUMPKINS
This cover hasn’t seen the light of day in about 13 years, but it’s still one of the greats. Fortunately it’s been preserved in all its live glory as a part of their 2006 Live In Denver DVD.

06. ‘HEY YA!’ – ORIGINALLY BY OUTKAST
The only way to describe this one is ‘unexpected’. But be honest, it makes you wanna shake it like a polaroid picture.

05. ‘SAY IT AIN’T SO’ – ORIGINALLY BY WEEZER
Another more recent cover, Panic! did the Weezer classic justice in a SiriusXM session last year. Absolute banger.

04. ‘CARELESS WHISPER’ – ORIGINALLY BY GEORGE MICHAEL
It made only a handful of appearances, but it was truly glorious. During Panic!’s North American ‘Vices & Virtues’ Tour in 2011 they’d take an instrumental interlude and whip out this George Michael classic. What a moment.

03. ‘THE GREATEST SHOW’ – ORIGINALLY FROM THE GREATEST SHOWMAN
The only thing better than finding out that ‘The Greatest Show’ was originally written and pitched as a Panic! At The Disco track, is the fact that after all of that Panic! covered it for the reimagined album.

02. ‘I CAN’T MAKE YOU LOVE ME’ – ORIGINALLY BY BONNIE RAIT
This one is a new addition to the Panic! live set, but is still a firm contender for one of the best. While we haven’t got a studio version (yet), you have to celebrate Brendon for his incredible use of falsetto and a flying piano. Also bonus points for the fact that it seemlessly blends into ‘Dying In LA’. Truly iconic.

01. ‘BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY’ – ORIGINALLY BY QUEEN
There was always going to be a number one, and it has to be ‘Bo Rhap’. It’s now such a staple of all live Panic! sets that we often forget that it was back in 2016 that we got the studio version of this cover on the soundtrack of ‘Suicide Squad’.
