Pumped for that Neck Deep album? Same. Here's what Ben Barlow had to say when we chatted about it a couple of weeks back.
SHOULD WE EXPECT ANOTHER POP-PUNK EXTRAVAGANZA FROM YOU? “In my opinion a band should always show progression and we’re certainly aware that we want to do that with this album. It’s hard to say exactly at this stage.
"I’m sure there will be lots of what people might describe as ‘pop-punk’ songs, but also some things that fans might not expect. Neck Deep is about having fun, there’s no ulterior motive to what we do – it’ll just be the music we want to make at the time.”
OUTSIDE OF THE ALBUM, WHAT ARE YOUR OTHER AMBITIONS FOR THE NEXT 12 MONTHS? “We’re on tour with A Day To Remember in Europe at the start of the year, which should be amazing. I’m excited to get back on the road because it feels like we’ve had more time off than usual in the last few months. There was a period at the start of 2016 when we were working really hard but now I think we’re recharged and ready to come back strong.
"I guess we’re returning with an album pretty quickly by some standards, but the aim of this band has always just been to play our music to as many people as we can and have a laugh with our mates while doing it. I guess that’s the goal for 2017: go into the biggest venues and festivals we can and have the biggest laugh possible.
"2016 was shit in lots of ways, so I’m pumped for this year!”
