This is My Favourite Record- the feature where we give band members the chance to gush about the music that they love.

Because everyone has a favourite record. Even band members. Especially band members.

This week we talk to Grayscale bassist Nick Ventimiglia, whose favourite record of all time is the The Used's self-titled.

WHEN IS THE FIRST TIME YOU HEARD THE RECORD?
I remember actually seeing the music video for ‘Box Full of Sharp Objects’ on MTV and it blew my mind. When the record dropped, I immediately went to my local record shop and grabbed it.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST ACQUIRE IT?
I picked it up the week it dropped.

HAVE YOU SEEN IT PERFORMED LIVE IN ANY CAPACITY?
I’m lucky enough to be on Warped Tour with them currently and I try to see them every chance I can. I saw them back in the day on The Taste of Chaos tour and saw them play the record in its entirety on the anniversary tour.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TRACK OFF 'THE USED'?
‘Greener With The Scenery’ is probably my favorite track on the record. What drew me in was the intro riff and the drum pattern Brandon does behind it. I think it’s just the way the song flows and builds that makes me love it.

WHY IS THIS RECORD SO IMPORTANT TO YOU?
I think it’s the time of my life and everything going on around me in my life at that time. It’s the good and the bad that comes along with that era when it was released and I was coming into my own as a teenager in general. It still is my favorite record of all time, and always will be.

Relatable. It's pretty much a masterpiece.
