Have you listened to these Toronto punks yet? No? Time to wrap your ears around 'Clarity'. Be warned, though. It's got teeth.
The song itself comes from a pretty dark place, as vocalist Jordan Black explains:
"Clarity is about 6 months of social and emotional hell. I was seeing someone but he denied it was anything. There was a lot of bad blood by the end of it. We had a very heated argument and I said something maybe I shouldn't have and then I got punched square in the face to the point where my friends had to carry me out. I felt embarrassed, used and worthless. So I wrote a song about how we only ever bonded over Jimmy Eat World's 'Clarity' and Sex as a massive fuck you to him."
Like Pacific will release a self-titled EP through Pure Noise Records on January 19. If you like what you hear, pre-order the thing over at likepacific.merchnow.com.
