We think Lights is pretty damn fearless. One of the most fearless figures in our world.

We think that she's so fearless, she's on the cover of the Rock Sound 50 right now (you can pick up her online exclusive cover right now from SHOP.ROCKSOUND.TV).
Know who else thinks Lights is fearless? Her husband (and Blessthefall frontman) Beau Bokan. So we thought we better have a chat to him about everything Lights has achieved. He's so proud of her, and it's the cutest thing in the world. Read his full interview below.
WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES LIGHTS SO FEARLESS IN YOUR EYES?
"I’ve seen it since day one. She’s not afraid of a challenge. Being in a predominantly male run industry, rather than being passive and saying ‘Oh, I’m just a girl’ she has gone the complete opposite. She has toured with bands like Protest The Hero. Like, who does that? There are bands in the rock world that would get eaten alive on that tour let alone a female fronted electro-pop artist. At this stage there is nothing that can be said that will affect her because she’s heard it all. She’s had the heckling at the shows. She’s had people saying ‘you can’t do this’. She’s then gone and proven them all wrong. She moved out to Toronto by herself when she was 18. How many people can do that and come out alive at the other end? She will probably tell you ‘I’m not fearless’ because she has that humble spirit. Since we’ve met I’ve just watched her overcome all these challenges and accomplish all these goals that she set out. It’s amazing to watch and I am just super proud of her. I tell her all the time."

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WATCHING HER CREATE ‘SKIN & EARTH’?
"I was a total fly on the wall. Being able to illustrate and write and colour her own graphic novel was a huge accomplishment. For her it was a huge goal that she set out to do saying ‘I’m going to do this all on my own’. She went from building the original concept to saying ‘Ok I need a tablet to draw this on’. Then she started to draw and said ‘Ok I now need an app that’s going to put this in the proper format’. Then she started to reach out to people she looked up to like Brain K. Vaughn and other artists who had written these amazing comic books. She befriended these creative that she looked up to and they took her under their wing and made sure she did things the right way. She didn’t want it to just look like another pop star who had decided to make a comic book. She takes a lot more pride in it than just sticking her name on something. Now I’m just blown away by what she can create. It really helped build her character."
HOW HAS LIGHTS USED HUGE LIFE MILESTONES SUCH AS YOU GETTING MARRIED AND BECOMING PARENTS TO INSPIRE HER?
"When we found out that we were having Rocket and then eventually having Rocket, a lot of the perception was ‘you can’t make music, you’ve got a kid’ or ‘you’re going to have to take years off, maybe you can music again some day’. She was adamant in proving that she could do it still and showing that being a mum doesn’t slow you down. If anything it’s made her stronger and made her more determined. Her work ethic has actually gone up. It’s one of those things where you instantly go ‘holy shit I’m going to have a kid, I’m going to have to quit the band’. I won’t lie, I’ve thought that many times. Saying that, it’s an incredible thing that we have pulled off in our family. She was just so determined to say ‘guys seriously, I can still write music’. It was a huge thing for both of us.
"All three of us don’t get a ton of time together but when we do it’s so special and you can see how happy our daughter is. She says it now. She’s 4 and she will say ‘We’re all together!’ That’s the most important thing. Making sure that we aren’t just going ‘oh, we’ve got to go do our work’. There are moments where we are 100% dialled in showing her nothing but love.
WHAT EFFECT HAS LIGHTS’ OUTLOOK ON EVERYTHING HAD ON YOUR ART AND THE WAY YOU APPROACH MUSIC?
"She’s always been a huge inspiration for me. I saw her stepping out of her box and trying new things and taking these chances and then I learned from it. She has always complimented my voice and my song writing even when I feel like I’m not the best at it. I don’t personally feel like I’m a good singer or a frontman. I just go out there and do it. She always installs the confidence in me to try something new."
