The Best Of The Internet’s Reaction To Tom DeLonge’s Departure From Blink-182

What a flipping rollercoaster the last 24 hours have been for Blink-182 and their fans. Here's how you reacted.

As you're probably aware by now, vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge - or should we say his management - announced in a very 2005 fashion that "He [Tom] didn’t want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinetly, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors.”

The news came off the back of Blink's surprise billing as 'Blink-182 with Matt Skiba' at the Musink Tattoo And Music Convention in California. The internet exploded, Tom said he "never quit the band", then Travis and Mark gave a warts-and-all interview with Rolling Stone explaining their side of the story. This morning, our Digital Editor took a look at the fallout in this blog. Are you caught up yet? Good.

Given all the hullaballoo, it's understandable that there have been a range of emotions scattered across the internet ether.

Some peope are heartbroken.

Others revelled in Tom's apparent exit from the band.

Some of you literally couldn't give a monkey's.

And, of course, there's been some great Blink-inspired punnery. Because internet.

So many "Why DeLonge Face" tweets.

So many.

Oh, SO many.

Meanwhile, quite a few people have already been praising the arrival of Matt Skiba...

...while others are just kinda getting on with their lives.

There's been some predictable speculation (crossing over with that other big news story of the week).

Naturally.

Now, before we go, Riff-Raff, c'mon now buddy. You can't be in both Asking Alexandria and Blink-182. That's just greedy.

Oh, and credit must be given to JFC for creating this little nugget of web gold: http://istomstillinblink182.com/

Well done, internet. You did good today.
