Trophy Eyes Drop Existential New Tune ‘Life In Slow Motion’

Trophy Eyes have just dropped new track ‘Life In Slow Motion’.

The new single is the latest to arrive ahead of the band’s forthcoming fourth album, ‘Suicide and Sunshine’, set for release on June 23.

True to its title, the track begins with a slow incline, as vocalist John Floreani offloads such angst-ridden lines as, “And in the chaos I find peace and quiet / Nothing means anything I’m always tired.”

Have a watch of the track’s animated video, set amid space, and which features an appearance from the Grim Reaper.

Speaking of some of the existential sentiment that went into the track, Floreani has said:

“‘Life in Slow Motion’ is my assessment of life itself, and the way we as humans navigate life and time here on Earth.”

“Searching for meaning in chaos, I found myself seeing signs in number patterns and small examples of beauty in ordinary life; a hug at the bar exchanged between friends, a crinkled photo of a loved one kept close, a kindness or a smile.”

“What they mean, I can’t say, but sometimes if you look hard enough and sit quietly enough, life reaches out and speaks to you.”

His description of the latest track chimes with the description of ‘Suicide and Sunshine’, which has been billed as an album “about contrast. About light and dark. About beauty and tragedy.”
