Point North Release New Version Of ‘Below The Belt’ Featuring Set It Off

Point North have reworked their track ‘Below The Belt’, and this time enlisted Set It Off as a guest feature.

The new version of the track marks the first time the bands have worked together.

‘Below The Belt’ initially featured on Point North’s latest studio album ‘Prepare For Despair’, which arrived in August via Hopeless Records.

Speaking of the new track, Set It Off’s Cody Carson has explained how the collab came about and a little anecdote about the track’s name, saying:

“I absolutely love the boys in Point North so when they asked if I would hop on their song ‘Below The Belt’ it was a no brainer.

“Funny story about this song and the song we released called ‘Punching Bag’ is that the first demo of our song was originally titled ‘Mr. Nice Guy’, but that title didn’t feel right to me so I was like, “I really wanna call it ‘Punching Bag’.

“And Jon told me that his band Point North already had an unreleased song with that title but that he wouldn’t care at all if we felt we should go with that name.

“We both agreed to call Set It Off’s song Punching Bag and Point North changed their title to ‘Below the Belt’ which I think is an amazing song title!”

The new track is by no means the first high-profile collab from Point North, with the California-based band having teamed up with The Ghost Inside for ‘Prepare For Disaster’ track ‘Safe And Sound’, which climbed its way into the top 20 at rock radio.
