Make Do And Mend have recruited a new bassist. Luke Schwartz will fill the role of Mike Poulin, guitarist for Rock Sound Riot warriors, Defeater.
The following statement was posted on Make Do And Mend's Twitter feed:
"Make Do And Mend has a new bass guitarist. His name is Luke Schwartz and he is our best friend. He is the best thing to happen to this band in a long time, so please welcome him to the MDAM family with open arms."
Isn't that sweet?
Since 2006, Poulin has rocked as a member of both bands, but will now be able to focus his efforts on Defeater.
If you want to see Schwartz in action, then we have just the thing. In case you didn't know, MDAM are supporting Set Your Goals on their UK tour in May. Plus, one of Rock Sound's favourite UK bands, Spycatcher are tagging along too. And here are the all-important dates:

Have a watch of MDAM's ace new animated video for 'Transparent Seas' below!
Last year's 'End Measured Mile' was a thing of pure punk beauty, but Make Do And Mend have announced they're toning things down for their latest release. On November 21, they will release an acoustic EP, fittingly titled 'Part And Parcel', which features stripped-down versions of the finest cuts from 'End Measured Mile', along with a Touché Amoré cover and two brand new songs.
Speaking of the release, vocalist / guitarist James Carroll has said: "It's something we've talked about doing for a while. We wanted to explore the versatility of our songs and also expolore our boundaries as songwriters."
The tracklisting for 'Part And Parcel' looks like this:
1. Unknowingly Strong
3. Home Away From Here (Touché Amoré cover)
4. Transparent Seas
And, as a sweet little addendum to some badass news, the guys have also said they've been working on a new video for the track 'Transparent Seas' which will be revealed shortly.
Rock Sound faves Make Do And Mend have put a brand new song online for streaming. 'Coats' is taken from the Run For Cover Records sampler, 'Mixed Signals' which also features tracks from such excellent RFC artists as Polar Bear Club, Daytrader, The Menzingers, Tigers Jaw and many more.
To stream 'Coats', head over to the band's Facebook page and click on the Bandpage tab.
