Higher Power have good reason to be as spirited as they are on new track ‘Absolute Bloom’, with the single being their first on their new label home Nuclear Blast Records.
The Leeds quintet are part of the UK’s burgeoning hardcore scene and now find the likes of Malevolence and Lamb Of God as their labelmates.
Their new track is aptly titled given it marks a new era for a band truly coming into its own, and packs a real sense of vibrancy as vocalist Jimmy Wizard emphasises the need to “feel connected to something that’s human / Me and you can grow old / Into absolute bloom” with heartfelt meaning.
Explaining a bit about where this feeling and lust for life in the track derives from, Jimmy has said of the single:
“I’m super excited to release this song.
“It’s really personal to me in this transitional period of my life, about wanting a deeper, more meaningful connection to the real world and not quite being equipped to do so, but finding hope and figuring it out.
“The music reflects that with a song that’s so big and upbeat.”

Higher Power are currently on tour in the US, supporting Neck Deep after the recent release of the pop-punk legend’s self-titled LP.
The band are also slated to be on the bill of Northern Unrest (April 26 and 27) and Outbreak Festival (June 28, 29 and 30) this year.
