They’ve warped and perverted their electronic base
Suuns are yet another of those Canadian bands who’ve clearly spent many a long, cold winter stuck in front of a laptop, programming beats. Everything here starts with digital rhythms and the search for newer, weirder sounds. But what makes ‘Zeroes QC’ so satisfying is the way in which they’ve warped and perverted their electronic base. With the addition of lusty prods of guitar noise to the snap of ‘Armed For Peace’ and the free jazz assault on ‘Pie IX’ it’s as though you’re playing Tetris and the coloured blocks suddenly leap off the screen and start humping your leg. Much more exciting, we think you’ll agree, than a snowball fight.
