Storming out of Ontario, Canada with more horsepower than Jeremy Clarkson in a Veyron, Monster Truck are a pedal-to-the-metal, balls-to-the-wall rock ‘n’ roll band who’ve studied long and hard at the AC/DC school of riffery. Making no apologies for their groovy, cock swaggering sound, everything about this lot is retro and uncomplicated, and in ‘The Lion’, ‘Sweet Mountain River’ and ‘Oh Lord’ they have some bona fide road trip hits up their sleeves. ‘Furiosity’ is crass, it’s rowdy, and it’s totally unoriginal but in the best kind of way – sometimes you just need to say balls to innovation, slam a couple of whiskey chasers and whack on some good old stinking rock ‘n’ roll. ‘Furiosity’ demands exactly that.
