Almost a year on from Drug Church’s debut EP, and Albany’s most nihilistic sons are back in town with a belter of a debut album. Bizarrely named after the Varsity Blues actor, it sees the band sounding tighter and more confident than ever on the likes of ‘Reading Youtube Comments’ and probable live favourite-to-be ‘Donny’s Woods’. Their post-hardcore attack is surprisingly melodic at times, but their vocalist Patrick Kindlon howls like a drunken preacher raging at the world, so it’s safe to assume that Drug Church won’t be bothering many airwaves. Frankly, we wouldn’t have them any other way.
If you didn't know, Defeater / Alcoa frontman and all-round top bloke Derek Archambault is in need of a new hip. The good news is a LOT of people have been helping out by donating to his PledgeMusic campaign. Are you one of them?
