The third album from Dallas Green is another stunning affair...
Three albums in, it’s still pretty hard to put a single genre to City And Colour’s (aka Alexisonfire’s Dallas Green) music – but when your name is synonymous with quality songwriting above all, that remains a good thing. ‘Little Hell’ pares down the country and folk instrumentation that came through so clearly on 08’s ‘Bring Me Your Love’ in favour of a slower, almost blues-inspired sound. It doesn’t shun country influences altogether, mind – when matched to the album’s mood and Green’s plain-speaking lyrics, they function to add a soulful feel to a set of characteristically lovely, melancholic songs.
Having sold out London's Bush Hall in approximately three minutes, City And Colour have announced they're set to play a suuuuuuuuper intimate London showcase next week.
