The first time this reviewer saw Canterbury live was two years ago at a small venue in London town and approximately 20 people turned up – with this record that should all change, easily. The best songs here are still the ones we first heard, ‘Set You Right’ and ‘Friends? We’re More Like A Gang’, but the other nine tracks on ‘Thank You’ more than exceed what could have been taken as beginner’s luck. Opener ‘Peace + Quiet’ kicks in like ‘I’-era Billy Talent and from that moment on it’s hard to find fault with the record. It’s worth keeping an eye on this promising five-piece.
In RS199, we step behind the scenes of one of the world’s hottest bands – All Time Low – as they teeter on the edge of superstardom. Elsewhere, Danny Worsnop talks We Are Harlot, Asking Alexandria and more, we hear about the songs that inspired Frank Iero and My Chemical Romance, and we dip behind the scenes on Architects’ biggest ever tour.
PLUS: There are eight FREE ALL TIME LOW POSTERS. FREE, we say.
