Phwoar, what a week. Slipknot announced their new album, Bring Me The Horizon revealed the best support line-up ever (although Architects came close, too) and Reading & Leeds brought the curtain down on Festy Season 2014. Here's some of the small stuff you might have missed.
Asking Alexandria prove they’re to be taken very seriously.
Apocalyptic metalcore and symphonic arrangements delivered at break-neck speed is the name of the game on ‘Reckless And Relentless’, the second full-length from York mob Asking Alexandria. While they’ve proved they’re more than adept at wielding atypical Underøath guitar lines and BMTH growls previously, this time Asking Alexandria prove they’re to be taken very seriously as they follow Architects’ lead, pushing for the massive (and we mean massive) choruses on tracks like ‘A Lesson Never Learned’. While ‘The Match’ still draws on synthesised moments this is a huge leap forward from 09‘s debut ‘Stand Up And Scream’.
