Zoroaster - Matador

Rating: 9

Journeying through the cosmos with controls set for the heart of the sun, Atlanta psychwarriors Zoroaster are a doom band with a difference. Where the majority of their peers seek to crush the life out of the listener in agonising slow motion, Zoroaster invite you to kick back and enjoy the ride, with a hazy, tripped out vibe that borders on the euphoric. Moreover, there’s not an inch of flab to be found on ‘Matador’, whether it’s the shamanic, reverb drenched reverie of ‘Old World’, the psychedelic madness of ‘Firewater’ or the righteously rocking ‘Trident’. Prepare to have your mind blown.
