Your Demise - The Kids We Used To Be

Rating: 9

“Your Demise 2010, bitch”. The simple yet defiant yelp that opens up ‘The Kids We Used To Be’ is important, for it encapsulates both the mood of this fantastic album and where the band are at right now. The first recording with new vocalist Ed McRae, it spells a new beginning, a new era for the band, one of eclecticism, one of swinging for the fences and aiming for the stars. ‘Life Of Luxury’ incorporates the pace and melody of Comeback Kid at their best, whereas ‘Scared Of The Light’ provides the iron-fist-to-the-face reminiscent of proper old-school hardcore. Highly recommended.
