Rock Sound is entirely in love with the exhilarating noise created by this Dublin punk quintet in their debut seven-track release. ‘Dead Dead…’ is one of those records that inspires genuine excitement; they’ll not court stardom with the bass-heavy, filthy groove and classic post-hardcore inflections that flow throughout, but they’ll definitely be cherished by all who fall for their charms. The lyrical motif “kill the head and the body will die” sounds just as brilliant in ‘Ugly Mouth’ as it did in Transistor Transistor’s ‘Erase All Name And Likeness’. Closing with the bleak ‘Dead Road’, Wounds’ debut is a belter. More please.
