A right royal blasting is in order here courtesy of Brighton boys Whitemare, who feature ex-members of Johnny Truant and Architects in the ranks. And with five songs that notch up around six minutes in total, this debut EP doesn’t mess around when it comes to delivering a short, sharp hoof in the face (if only a real ‘Hangover’ lasted for a minute-and-a-half!). ‘Ready To Go’ is a fired-up affair with throaty vocal scrapes and jagged guitars, while ‘Hangman’s Grove’ is like Zeke on speed. Redefining Brighton Rock, ‘Whitemare’ is a thoroughbred of filth. Nice.
