Eschewing the typical No Idea Records pathway of signing bands that sound like every Minneapolis punk outfit from the last 20 years rolled into one, Florida’s Tubers ply their trade in scuzzed up, skewed melodic punk rock that is frequently reminiscent of classic D.C hardcore. The superbly-named ‘These Quantum Leaps Are Killing Me’ chugs along to a filthy concoction of guttural wails and feedback-heavy guitar sounds, Rich Diem leading from the front, providing the focal point for energy and drive, whilst the foul noise crashes around him. If not exactly easy listening, this is at least compelling.
