Throwdown - Deathless Rating: 8Following in the mammoth footsteps of former effort ‘Venom & Tears’, ‘Deathless’ is the Orange County bruisers’ heaviest and most brutal effort yet. Shedding the remains of their hardcore overcoat, their sixth offering (and fourth with Dave Peters on vocals) is metal through and through and from slicing opener ‘The Scythe’ with vicious guitar chuggery, to Pantera-meets-Shadows Fall-esque closer ‘Burial At Sea’, you will not be disappointed. But while there’s the brutality, there’s also a serious injection of melody with Killswitch Engage-like sung sections which will surprise some, yet further demonstrates Throwdown’s maturity and musical ability. Nice.

For fans of: Hatebreed, Slayer, Pantera, Shadows Fall
