The Smoking Hearts - Pride Of Nowhere

Rating: 8

Undoubtedly referring to the middle England backwoods that The Smoking Hearts managed to crawl their way out of, ‘Pride Of Nowhere’ is the sound of a group of bored souls from the sticks making a helluva racket in their garden shed. Thankfully someone saw fit to get them into a recording studio to lay down the 29 minutes of noise on display here. It was worth the trek, clearly. ‘Thundersludge’ rocks out like The Wildhearts on an even crazier cocktail of chemicals than usual, whilst the short, sharp stab that is ‘Stab Twist Kill’ could well do exactly that. What more could you ask for?
