They rose from the ashes of
Miss Black America, but
Ten City Nation do things rather differently. Instead of rousing statements of punk-infused intent, stand-out tracks like ‘Flashing Lights’ and ‘J.L. Give It Up’ combine strong melodies with swirling crescendos of noise to slowly reel you in. It’s just as effective as their former efforts and oddly, despite the rough-hewn appearance of some songs, more refined. Listen closely to ‘Battle Lost Battle Found’ and you’ll notice the intricacies, layers, and attention to detail.
Ten City Nation understand that subtlety can be a powerful tool, and that makes them a very exciting prospect indeed.
