Small Brown Bike - Fell & Found

Rating: 8

Hey, new bands: be better! Small Brown Bike have been going for 15 years, split up once, played one set of gushingly-received reunion shows and recorded this new album with J Robbins without so much as a sniff of viral marketing or any shit like that. What we loved them for way back when is exactly what fuels ‘Fell & Found’ – the Michigan beard-punkers can still pull solid-gold quality out of their collective arses, with ‘Sleep River Sleep’ and ‘In Need Of Everything’ two particular highlights. And in ‘Just Bones’, they’ve written a gloriously weary anthem that, like much of the album, gets better with each spin.
