Finally, after much label wrangling, Pull Tiger Tail’s debut sees the light of day, two-and-a-half years after the three-piece recorded it. In a way, though, it’s nice to listen to ‘PAWS’ long after the hype has died away, leaving the songs to stand in isolation. And these angular pop-rock anthems have been worth the wait - both the singles you’ve already heard (‘Animator’, ‘Hurricanes’) and also the ‘new’ material (‘Loki’, in particular, is huge). Straddling indie, emo and new rave, ‘PAWS’ sounds great now, and would have sounded vital back in 07, so fingers crossed this isn’t the end.
