Person L - The Positives

Anyone holding out for The Starting Line part 2 should probably look away now - Person L is far, far removed from the band that frontman Kenny (sorry, Kenneth) Vasoli once helmed. ‘The Positives’ is much more prog-rock than pop-punk, and the intricacy of ‘Hole In The Head’ and ‘Untitled’ shows this is a band capable of everything from grandiose soundscapes to gritty rock ‘n’ roll anthems. At times it makes for awkward listening (Vasoli’s delivery feels forced in places), but overall it’s an engaging record that’s a hell of a lot more than just a bunch of three chord wonders.
