Order Of Ennead - An Examination Of Being

Order Of Ennead excel in building up a massive swarm of sound that threatens to leave you bludgeoned, but doesn’t. Instead the rasping, swirling vocals sit in the middle of this death metal vortex like a shaman delivering wisdom and words that demand examination of self. The clicking whip of the title track is lethally glorious, as is the brilliant ‘The Scriptures Of Purification’, while ‘Lies Upon The Lips Of Judas’ opens with an immediate hook courtesy of the shifting guitar riff and a ripping lead. Progressive in that they’ve painted in colours other than black, this is strong stuff.
