Napalm Death - Time Waits For No Slave

Rating: 9

Napalm’s unlucky number 13 is anything but; a technically brilliant toxic soup of exactly what made them a John Peel-obsessed pioneering standout, up there with the best records they’ve ever recorded. It’s as extreme as you’d expect, but the stunning groove they more regularly incorporate here would snap the necks of the most seasoned of moshers, ‘Life And Limb’ and ‘De-Evolution Ad Nauseum’ just for starters. Considering, at times, they’ve been left out in the cold during their career, they’ve never sounded more relevant than in 09 and it’s a fair bet that even this early on you’ll struggle to find a superior extreme metal album this year. Hats off.
