It’s almost impossible to keep track of Mouth Of The Architect’s ever-shifting membership, but one thing has remained consistent throughout their career, and that’s the quality of the music. Featuring two new songs, a live recording and a cover (of Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes’, no less), this EP provides an intriguing snapshot of a band in transition. The title track is an uncompromising statement of intent, its driving sludgy riffs and rugged caveman vocals coalescing with swirling keyboards and Mastodonian guitar harmonics, while ‘Buried Hopes’ contrasts sombre acoustic ambience with pure gut-wrenching catharsis.
