Monster Magnet - 4-Way Diablo
Like Johnny Cash, Wyndorf certainly has a talent for poignant lyrical stories.

If
'Monolithic Baby!' left behind
Monster Magnet's space-rock past, album seven is a more dynamic affair, with varying shades and textures. There's trippy instrumental
'Freeze And Pixillate', the ballsy
'Slap In The Face' and
'Wall Of Fire', while the title track takes a more pared-down approach, featuring lyrics like
"I can't hear myself, I'm so far away" and
"I saw reality going down the drain" - pointing towards frontman
Dave Wyndorf's recent struggle with personal demons.
Like
Johnny Cash,
Wyndorf certainly has a talent for poignant lyrical stories, and closer
'Little Bag Of Gloom' is a right tear-jerker. Storming, but by no means a return to the glory of
'Dopes To Infinity' and
'Powertrip'.
