Mia Hope - We Are Just Satellites Rating: 8Initially it’s a claustrophobic and confusing storm that MIA Hope insist on whipping up. Once you get beyond the trees though the wood is a very dangerous place to be, inhabited by ferociously brutal and occasionally strangely melodic beasts. Songs like the brilliantly titled ‘Eating Out Pandora’s Box’ mix up hardcore with furiously technical passages and snappy, barked vocals, ‘Pollyana’ is a big musical swirl while ‘Last Stand Of The Unicorns’ takes in post-metal notions and ‘Glass Buildings With Amazing Light’ glides from prog to punk. A thrilling and exciting release that bodes well for the future. Here’s hoping.

For fans of: War From A Harlot’s Mouth, Johnny Truant
