Unlucky for some...

It’s generally accepted that ‘Rust In Peace’ is
Megadeth’s crowning achievement. Fans and critics love it and MegaDave himself came to that realisation via the 20th anniversary tour last year. We don’t know if it’s the residual effect of playing said album night after night, or even more of a realisation that ‘RIP’ is the shit, but ‘Th1rt3en’ borrows riffs and choruses, especially from the spidery, NWOBHM ascend / descend of ‘Hanger 18’ in ‘Sudden Death’ and the speedy ‘Polaris’ in ‘New World Order.’ Otherwise, the ‘Deth’s 13th album (how’d you guess?) gravitates between classy thrashers and hokey anthemic rock with scorching guitar work and Mustaine’s snarling voice expectedly leading the charge.
