Juliette And The Licks - Four On The Floor

Rating: 8

Originally released last October, you have to wonder why Juliette And The Licks' second album is being reissued so soon. At this time of year, the explanation probably lies with the need for a publicity boost ahead of the festival season. Even so, the extra push can't do any harm considering this is a brilliantly raw punk rock record that needs to be heard.

Juliette Lewis sums it up best when she describes 'Four On The Floor' as "a 10-track, tight, kick-ass rock 'n' roll record" on this version's behind-the-scenes bonus DVD. Lewis' rampant energy and raging enthusiasm are undoubtedly what make these no-frills songs so infectious, although Dave Grohl's drumming doesn't hurt either. So if you missed it the first time around, you know what to do.
