Jeff Buckley - So Real

Rating: 8

Tragedy begets glory, give or take an ounce of talent, or so the cynics would have you believe. Luckily for the music world, (although unluckily for Jeff Buckley), there are still some legacies worth celebrating.

Buckley harboured a poise and musical grace that continues to impact on the music world to this day. Forget about humble lyrical and guitar-based arrangements; this was a man with a passionate musical vision and the drive and talent to fulfil it. 'So Real...' combines works from Buckley's opus 'Grace' and the posthumously published 'Sketches...' to offer up a selection of his finest tracks. Alongside live rarities and a previously unreleased cover of 'I Know It's Over' by The Smiths, this compilation cannot fail to please.
